About the Mosaic / Blur tool

How it works

1
Open an image

Drag & drop, paste with Ctrl+V, or pick a file.

2
Select an area or paint

Export as JPG or PNG and share — ready for social posts, blogs, reports.

Common use cases

Protect bystanders on social media

Blur strangers' faces, house numbers, or license plates before posting to Twitter/X, Instagram or TikTok.

Share screenshots safely

Cover names, addresses, account numbers on receipts, invoices, screen captures before sharing.

Journalism / blog photos

Blur passersby to respect privacy rights in news articles, YouTube thumbnails, or blog hero images.

Kids' events

Share school or preschool event photos online while blurring unrelated children's faces.

FAQ

Does it detect faces automatically?

Not yet — selection is manual (rectangle or brush). Automatic face detection is planned for a future release.

Can I adjust the mosaic strength?

Yes — use the slider to change block size. Larger blocks = coarser pixelation.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs entirely in your browser. Safe for private and sensitive images.

Can the mosaic be undone?

Once you download a mosaic'd image, the original pixels are destroyed and cannot be recovered. That's the point — your privacy is protected.

Which image formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC (iPhone photos work directly).
